What can I expect in the virtual Essential Skills-Building Strategies Workshop?

In our engaging 4-hour virtual Essential Skills-Building Strategies Workshop, you'll boost your math skills by working on test-specific word problems, enhance your data interpretation abilities by analyzing and completing charts with data provided, and sharpen your reading comprehension with strategic passage analysis. Plus, we'll dive into sentence structures and syntax to improve your written expression's clarity and precision and help you identify errors in problems provided in the exam. Throughout the workshop, you'll have the chance to ask questions and take part in timed quizzes that mimic real exam conditions, all while building confidence and readiness for the actual test. There are two different instructors for each math and English area, both with over 20 years experience teaching.

Will I be seen or heard during the virtual workshop?

No, only the instructors and the host will be visible and audible. At no time will you be visible or audible to anyone in the class, including the instructors, so you can just relax and learn. In order to communicate questions, you can type your questions or comments into a private chat box which only the moderators will see. They will relay your questions to the instructors during the Questions and Answers section.

We also have 2-3 moderators working behind the scenes to ensure all your questions are answered and the workshop goes smoothly.

What do I need to participate?

A computer, laptop, or tablet with speakers and access to the Internet is all you need to participate in our Zoom-based workshop.

Access to the workshop on a phone is possible but not optimal due to the difficulty in viewing the instructor’s shared screen and asking questions in the chat box.

Do I need to complete the workbook before the workshop?

Yes—we highly recommend it. By thoroughly reading and completing the workbook, you will ensure a comprehensive understanding of the content, maximize your learning experience, and fully engage in the interactive activities provided during the session. Plus, if you have any questions about how you solved the questions, you can ask the instructor in the Q&A sections.

Do I need to print my workbook?

We highly recommend that you print the workbook so you can solve the problems directly on the pages and easily take notes during the workshop. Download the workbook PDF, and print it at home or at your nearest local printing center. It does not have to be printed in color.
